OLTD Learning Outcome: Critically assess and evaluate resources for best practice in online learning
Evidence: My OLTD 503 Final Project Prezi in which I describe how Connectivism relates to the growth in my teaching practice.

Context of Evidence in Relation to the Outcome: In OLTD 503, I explored the use of Prezi as a tool and had some success. Within the Prezi, I have a link to Dr. Alec Couros who describes the connected teacher as one who uses online tools to mediate communication but is also one who is aware that human connections are what enhance learning most. To foster this, if possible, an initial f2f session should be facilitated. Also, student photos and profiles can be created to encourage interaction.
Context of Outcome in Relation to my Practice: During Semester 2 of OLTD, I have been using Zoom and practicing with Skype for Business in preparation for teaching online and blended courses next academic year. It's important for the instructor to have a visible and frequent presence to help students avoid isolation.
OLTD Learning Outcome: Develop practical and technical skills in all phases of concept, development, design, implementation, etc.

My First Prezi!
Evidence: The first Prezi that I have ever created, "The Evolution of Online Communication in a Course" can be found at: https://prezi.com/fkcy-doh-u4m/foggy
Context of Evidence in Relation to the Outcome: This Prezi includes images that I have photographed during the past couple of years. I know it's a small triumph, but in this program I am celebrating each little step I make with technology. Not sure why the title shows as "Foggy", and I didn't know how to change the title.
Context of Outcome in Relation to my Practice: In the article in this week's readings, "In search of the essence of a good teacher: towards a more holistic approach in teacher education" (2004), Fred Korthagen states that " ... an important aim of supervision may be to facilitate the process whereby the inner levels of change influence the outer levels." He is referring to teacher education, but I also relate it to my practice of helping students to develop their writing in first year university English courses. Students should be given opportunities to write on topics that are most meaningful for them. A teacher can also facilitate the deeper reflection that leads to meaningful learning by guiding discussions face to face and in on line communication.
